A list of things that are ok (for overworked caregivers of all kinds):

It’s ok to let others take care of themselves

It’s ok not to know the answer

It’s ok to put your needs first

It’s ok to do nothing

It’s ok to enjoy the things that are going well

It’s ok to name your discomfort out loud

It’s ok to be really proud of yourself

It’s ok to put your safety first

It’s ok to hold others accountable for things that happened to you when you were a kid

It’s ok to notice & celebrate the smallest of shifts

It’s ok to lower your bar

It’s ok to feel pain

It’s ok to prepare for your future self

It’s ok to change

It’s ok to gather and use support

It’s ok to be angry

It’s ok to not get it exactly right

It’s ok to do something different
